I personally think that Ramit's a douche and a hack; I mean, the title of his blog says it all. But that's just me.

In any case, frugality isn't so much about saving 900 pesos on a netbook purchase or 500 on a plane ticket; it's all about living within one's means and making every peso count and all the little things that we take for granted that make us poorer than we ought to be. It's all about how a person like Dog has a negative net worth even if he earns $100,000 a year, and how a college teacher in the Philippines like me is able to save 30% of his disposable income and still live a healthy, fun, and very fulfilled life.
